Kirsten and Komel

Kirsten and Komel were photographed for their engagement photos on Baker Beach part of Golden Gate National Recreation Area in San Francisco, California.  Situated at the mouth of the San Francisco Bay; Baker Beach offers beautiful views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Marin Headlands as backgrounds.  Baker Beach also has many old military bunkers and gun emplacements which make great backgrounds for black and white photography. This combination of backgrounds allows for the creation of some very stunning photographs.

By the end of this session of engagement photos Kirsten and Komel had gotten completely soaked and sandy from running through the surf and laying in the sand, but it made the difference between them getting good photographs and getting the awesome engagement photos that were captured.

No photograph is ever complete without a good story to go with it, and this session of engagement photos was no exception. Kirsten and Komel still talk about these engagement photos to this day and the story that goes with them.

Ballet Studio Photography

These  photographs were part of a series of studio photographs done for the dancers portfolios as well as for publication purposes for the annual Marin Ballet production of the Nutcracker in San Rafael California. The photographs were also used in the publication of the Nutcracker ballet program.

It’s amazing to witness a dancers power, grace, and flexibility creating such beautiful fluid motion, but to truly know what sort of athletic ability and dedication it takes to be a ballet dancer gives one a completely new appreciation for their grace. It is truly awe inspiring to witness them perform up close as I’ve had the opportunity to do on so many occasions.

Capturing ballet dancers in motion takes split second timing and technical skill; combined with a knowledge of their dance movements, and an anticipation of the natural artistic peak in that movement. The difference between getting the perfect photo and completely missing is literally the blink of an eye.

Crystal and Anthony’s Wedding Photos at Stone Tree Golf Course Novato California

Crystal and Anthony were married and had their wedding photos taken at StoneTree Golf Course in Novato, CA. We had a beautiful sunset and an awesome 1964 Chevy Impala the take their wedding photos with.

The grounds of the StoneTree Club House and the golf course itself are spectacular for wedding photos giving many choices for backgrounds which ultimately leads to a wealth of different looks and styles.  This is a venue that I’ve worked many times over the years and it never ceases to dazzle.

Crystal had an amazing gown and look to her reminiscent of Cleopatra in her wedding photos.  At the end of the day Crystal staked a claim to her husband and his Impala all in good fun.

If you are ever looking for a venue in the Novato area StoneTree is not to be missed.

Jaelyn is the daughter of a good friend who works in the wedding photography industry with us, and had trusted us with the wedding photography on her special day.

One of the most important parts of their lives we were honored to capture their wedding day for them with our wedding photography.

Jaelyn and Brandon were married at the Arden Hills Resort, Club and Spa in Sacramento California.  They rented one of the villas for the occasion and had their wedding reception in the main hall at Arden Hills resort.  This location offers some truly wonderful areas that are very conducive to great wedding photography.  This location is large enough to handle very large wedding parties or very private ones.

Jaelyn, Brandon, and their families had a wonderful wedding celebration and have some very special wedding photography images and memories to last them a lifetime.

Julia and Justin’s Wedding photos at TJ Farms Estates in Chico California

Julia and Justin were married and had their wedding photography taken at TJ Farms Estates in Chico California.

There are some truly dynamic photographs that came out of this wedding photography shoot, however since space is limited I can show but a few of them.

This location is truly awesome for wedding photography, and could be described as a professional photographers playground.

Everywhere we turned there were great backgrounds to use for wedding photography. Having a bride and groom that were up for anything made the wedding photography even better, and given that this wedding happened in early October we had pumpkins and the pumpkin patch as well.

Julia, Justin, and their guests had a fantastic time and when the sun went down and the music came up the party really came alive, and everyone danced well into the night.

Brooke and James engagement photos were taken in Sausalito, California and on Fort Baker near Sausalito and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Brook and James had a lot of fun taking their engagement photos. We started their engagement photos in Sausalito in a small park with nice flowers and a fountain.  Afterwards we took a walk along the waterfront and out onto the docks which makes for some unique engagement photos.

Later it was off to Fort Baker to take some more engagement photos with the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco as the background.  It was a very windy day once we were out at Fort Baker but we got some great shots just the same.

There is no mistaking where engagement photos are taken when the Golden Gate Bridge is in the background. It continues to be a very sought after as a background by wedding couples for their engagement photos or wedding photo sessions.

I opened a new fashion photography gallery today on my site. These fashion photography images were made a couple years ago in Bonnie Springs, NV.

Bonnie Springs Ranch is an old stopping point for wagon trains heading to California down the Old Spanish Trail, and today is a tourist attraction in the Las Vegas area. Bonnie Springs Ranch is a very unique place for Fashion Photography.

The day I took these photos the temperature was hovering around 45 degrees so it was very cold for the fashion models. The models were true professionals and I never heard a single complaint about the cold temperature during the fashion photography shoot though I was aware of it and tried to keep them as warm as I could.

I as well as the other professional photographers that participated in the alumni fashion photography shoot that year had a wonderful time and got some fantastic photographs for our portfolios as well as the models portfolio.

Special thanks goes out to Wayne Wallace for organizing the event, the models who have hopefully defrosted by now, and Hallmark Institute of Photography for sponsoring the event.

Under Water Shark Reef Photos Mandalay Bay Las Vegas Nevada

Shark Reef

I just added some photography images that were shot earlier this year at the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas Nevada.

Mandalay Bay Shark Reef allows you to get up close and personal with many unique animals.  The entry into the Shark Reef starts as an Amazon River eco system showing many of the large fresh water fish from the Amazon River.  There are some truly giant fish that live in that part of the world.

It continues on and eventually begins to take on the appearance of a sunken southeast asian temple.  As you descend into the temple you see more more and more sea life starting with the appearance of a reef and eventually dropping into what appears like a ship wreck in the shark reef where you are below the water and can look into giant tanks with all sorts of sharks and deep sea life.

It’s like diving into the sea without getting wet and makes for some great photography.  When you realize that this is located in the middle of the desert it’s even more impressive.

I spent several hours in the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay spending my time creating great photography images.

These photography images were taken after the completion of the WPPI 2010 photography convention I was attending in Las Vegas and as I had some time to kill I decided to check it out and see what I could get myself for photography.
